The Fort Peck Reservation is home to two separate Indian nations, each composed of numerous bands and divisions.

The Sioux divisions of Sisseton, Wahpetons, the Yanktonais, and the Teton Hunkpapa are all represented.

The Assiniboine bands of Canoe Paddler and Red Bottom are represented.

The Reservation is located in the extreme northeast corner of Montana, on the north side of the Missouri River.

Missions of FPTH

 

Mission Statement:

The Fort Peck Tribal Health Department's mission is to improve the health status of Indian people by promoting, supporting and assisting in the delivery of a total health care program, while respecting the cultural attitudes and practices of the people we serve.

 

Functional Statement:

The Fort Peck Tribal Health Department is responsible for administration, management, and operation of the Department's health care delivery system, and competively awarded adjunct health care grant programs

Services include the provision of medically essential client transportation requirements, animal control services, health education, environmental health requisites, diabetic client outreach services, and dialysis demands of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) clients.
